Design Engineer
Job Description
Position Overview:
Molex is looking for a solid Design Engineer to join our Industrial group. This group manufactures products for every kind of vehicle except automobiles, so Motorcycles, Buses, SemiTrucks, Tractors, Earth Movers, Marine vehicle just to name a few. In the role you will be responsible for the Design and Development of new and existing products that meets or exceed customer expectations. The Design Engineer supports Sr. Engineers and the engineering manager on all projects in development, product testing, generates models, 2-D, Engineering changes, technical documents etc.
Essential Functions:
With some guidance from Sr. Engineers and manager, develops new product design and manage product extension for Commercial Vehicle market.
Design high voltage High current products.
Conduct Tolerance and FEA analyses as req.
Follow Molex Product Development Procedure
Review applicable industry standards and implement in Design
Provides technical support to customers, team members, marketing, and sales.
Coordinates product activities with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and quality using the engineering change request (ECR) procedures
Support product test by coordinating with reliability lab (write test request, gather test sample, board etc.)
Performs design verification activities to ensure that design meets the specifications of the customer and UL requirements
Check manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy
Responsible for loading all products released BOM's (Bill of Material) and Material Master data sheets through SAP/software
Position Qualifications
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Minimum of three (3) years product design experience.
Proficient in solid modeling experience to generate 3D models & 2-D drawings.
Able to work within the US now and in the future without need for sponsorship.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Preferred modeling in NX.
Design of electro mechanical products such as connectors or switches. Especially High Voltage and High current.
Work Experience in Commercial Vehicle (examples: Trucks, Buses, Heavy machinery)
Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team oriented
Manage multiple Projects
Willing to step up and take ownership of Projects
