The IT Technical Writer Agile / Lean Experience will serve as a key collaborator within the Client IT Agile Center for Transformation team.
They will lead drafting, editing, and publishing of high quality, easy to understand process documentation to support the successful adoption of healthy agile and lean management practices within the IT organization.
The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for taking initiative, solving problems, and accommodating multiple deadlines.
They will be an exemplary writer with an appetite for contributing to a culture of continuous learning in a rapidly evolving transportation industry.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Producing high-quality, easy-to-understand documentation, guides and tutorials that are appropriate for adult learners.
Setting, maintaining, and improving internal documentation and publication standards.
Optimizing the documentation process from conception to completion, ensuring that the process delivers high-quality content in an efficient manner.
Serving as an editor for other writers.
Coaching other writers through the content creation process.
Proofreading, editing, and improving content; ensuring accuracy.
Ensuring alignment to standards and consistency in styling, tone, and layout.
Working with internal teams and SMEs to obtain an in-depth understanding of the processes and the content requirements.
Analyzing existing and potential content, incorporating processes to reduce rework and waste.
Coordinating the drafting, review, approval and online publishing process.
Creating and maintaining the existing information architecture.
Basic RequirementsBachelor's degreeAt least 2 years of technical writing / training/ communications /change management experienceORMaster's degreeAt least 2 years of technical writing / training/ communications /change management experienceORAt least 4 years of technical writing / training/ communications /change management experience Desired SkillsExceptionally strong writing, edition, proofreading and verbal communications skills.
Experience with agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
Experience with Lean management practices and development of standard work.
Experience taking complex information and clarifying / simplifying it for both technical and non-technical internal audiences.
Ability to communicate required edits clearly and coach other writers.
Ability to work effectively with teams to deliver results.
Ability to set priorities, multitask and meet deadlines.
Motivated to achieve high standards and dedicated to continuous improvement.
Ability to work well under pressure.
