Tax Manager - State & Income

We are currently seeking a Manager of State Income/Franchise Tax! The State Income Tax Manager will work in a collaborative multi-entity manufacturing environment to ensure that state tax accounting, tax compliance, tax audits and tax planning are compliant and executed in accordance with a culture that promotes the highest ethical standards of accounting.
The Tax Department operates in a hybrid work environment (SW Chicago suburbs).
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review quarterly US state income tax provisions calcs and monthly forecasts of state tax rate and franchise taxes including monitoring, analyzing, and documenting uncertain state tax positions and reserve balances Manage the timely and accurate filing of state income and franchise tax returns via a co-sourced big four accounting firm arrangement Maintains current knowledge of tax laws with a focus in the US state income/franchise tax area and analyzes the impact to the company Identifies and executes on state tax audit/amended return strategies and advises on state tax aspects of business transactions Identifies and implements improvements to policies and processes Utilizes a variety of programs, including tax compliance software, electronic research, and tax accounting software Effectively manages state tax notices May instruct, coach, or provide informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues May assist with other special projects or tax compliance as needed Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of accounting, finance or tax experience At least 1 year of lead experience OR Master's degree and at least 3 years of accounting, finance or tax experience At least 1 year of lead experience Desired Skills:
Proven work experience as a Tax Senior/Tax Manager with a focus on state income and franchise tax Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions Ability to handle high volumes of work accurately and in a timely manner Fully proficient in applying established standards, resolving a wide range of complex problems of diverse scope in innovative ways, including problems where precedent may not exist Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance, while handling multiple projects simultaneously Detail oriented Proficient in Microsoft Office products with an efficiency in Excel and OneSource software A strong team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with Alteryx is a plus Recommended Skills Alteryx Attention To Detail Auditing Coaching And Mentoring Communication Filing Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
