401(k) Match Profit-sharing program ResponsibilitiesThe Journeys and Adventures That AwaitUnder the direction of a cardiologist and a radiologist, the Cardiac CT Technologist will perform a variety of complex diagnostic cardiac CT procedures from inception to completion which includes performing cardiac CTs, taking accurate verbal patient histories, and starting IVs.
The Cardiac CT Technologist will maintain a positive imaging environment for our patients and act as a patient liaison to the cardiologist and the radiologist.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Technical responsibilities including:
Computer applications/scanning and quality control on scanner Daily paperwork & protocolin Provide cardiologist/radiologist with quality networked images Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in duly sponsored training programs Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems; call for service and notify pertinent team members Maintain a clean work environment Clinical responsibilities includings Obtain relevant patient history Profeciency in IV starts/Injections Maintain knowledge of radiation safety (to keep radiation exposure to ALARA levels) in all aspects of performing examinations, operation of equipment, handling of medical waste, patient safety, and applicable rules and regulations Under guidance and approval of site cardiologist/radiologist, administer IV and oral contrast according to site-specific protocols Perform ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the reading cardiologist/radiologist Maintains current IEMA license for CT; 24 hours of CE every 2 years Professional responsibilities including:
Maintain patient care, comfort, and safety during the exam Interactas a professional with the cardiologist/radiologist, nurses, site managers, clerical staff, and patients Explain CT procedures to the patient Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality Comply with DMG CT imaging policies/procedures Comply with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety Perform additional duties as required for performing CTs QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDLicense / Registration / CertificationARRT Registered Technologist, RT(CT)Current IEMA licenseBLS - Basic Life Support, AED Adult CPRIssued byAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)Level of EducationGraduate of an accredited education program in radiology technologyYears of Experience1 year experience performing cardiac CT scans including coronary CTAs, pulmonary vein CTAs, gated aortic CTAs, structural heart disease examinations (TAVR planning, LAA closure/Watchman) and coronary artery calcium scoring Experience working with cardiac nurses for achieving appropriate rate control for studiesExperience using the Tera Recon Aquarius workstation and GE CT scanners is NOT REQUIRED but is advantageous Recommended Skills Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Cpr) Basic Life Support Clinical Works Education Health Care Imaging Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
